ManagementNadav Ben-Efraim, CEO Mr. Ben-Efraim has had the fortune of working in three areas of technological breakthroughs. Nadav started his career at LSI Logic Corp as an ASIC design engineer for a new product line of semiconductor chipsets for Direct Broadcast Satellite systems. These chips enabled a new generation of Digital cable and satellite Set Top Boxes around the world. Mr. Ben-Efraim worked on the development of these chips and later managed this product line with over $100M of yearly revenues. Nadav left LSI Logic in 1997 to join Silicon Spice Inc., a Silicon Valley startup developing a new DSP architecture. As marketing Director Mr. Ben-Efraim re-directed the company to the emerging Voice over IP market. The product was a great success; leading to Silicon Spice acquisition by Broadcom in March of 2000. The VoIP technology created a tectonic change in the telecom space and is now the de-facto industry standard. In 2005 Mr. Ben-Efraim founded Analog Optics, a Fiber-to-the-Home company that later merged into Passave Inc. The FTTH market was in a nascent phase and the Passave chipsets paved the way to new fiber access products delivering up to 1Gbps to the home. Throughout the world FTTH is now replacing xDSL as the primary access technology. In 2006 Passave was acquired by PMC Sierra Inc. for its leading position in this market. Following the acquisition Mr. Ben-Efraim became PMC Sierra's Managing Director of Corporate Business Development. Mr. Ben-Efraim holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Itamar Arel, CTO Dr. Arel is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He is the director of the Machine Intelligence Lab at the University of Tennessee; Co-founder, Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Roadmap initiative; Program chair of the 3rd Artificial General Intelligence conference and recipient of the US DoE Early Career Principal Investigator (CAREER) award in 2004. He is a senior member of the IEEE. Dr. Arel's areas of research areas include: High-Performance Machine Intelligence, Scalable Machine Learning, and Deep Learning Systems. Prior to joining the University of Tennessee, Dr. Arel was Chief Scientist and co-founder at TeraCross, Inc. and an engineering officer at an elite technology unit in the Israeli Defense Force. Tsvi Slonim, Principal Architect Tsvi has over 15 years of experience in software and hardware engineering and project management. Tsvi is currently a Principal Architect at Binatix in charge of algorithms development and hardware acceleration solutions. Tsvi received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ben-Gurion University, and the M.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with focus on signal processing and artificial intelligence, from Tel-Aviv University, Israel. During 1993-2000 Mr. Slonim served in an elite technical unit of the Israel Defense Forces as a researcher and unit head. Shay Berant, Solutions Architect Shay received the B.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and in Physics (1996), and the M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with focus on biomedical signal processing (2005), all from Ben-Gurion University in Israel. During 1997-2002 Mr. Berant served as an active duty R&D officer at an elite technical unit of the Israel Defense Forces, where he conducted research and developed systems in the areas of image understanding, supervised data classification and high-dimensional statistical clustering. Since 2007, Mr. Berant has been with Binatix where he been developing theory and code pertaining to deep machine learning architectures, with focus on robust classification applications. |
